Haben Conroe Mobos TCPA integriert?
Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen von speziellen OEM Versionen (vom Intel Bad Axe - PAL anstatt BLK oder BOX) und Workstation Mainboards (bei ASUS P5WDG2-WS nachrüstbar) existieren quasi keine die einen solchen "TPM" (Trusted Platform Module) - Chip besitzen.

Sind aktuelle Mainboards auch Kentsfield (Quadcore) fähig?
Entgegen bisherigen Vermutungen bootet die neue Quadcore CPU Kentsfield auf einem Bad Axe problemlos (Newsmitteilung auf CB) und auch manche Hersteller propagieren bereits, dass ihre Mainboards "Kentsfield Ready" sind. Dies sind unter anderem das neue P5W-DH von Asus und das AB9 von Abit (s. Liste für weitere Informationen), welche die Chipsätze 975X (Asus) und 965 (Abit) verwenden

Intel stellt 965-Chipsatz (Broadwater) vor. (http://www.computerbase.de/news/hardware/chipsaetze/intel/2006/juni/intel_965-chipsatz_broadwater/)
Auf der Computex hat Anand Chandrasekher, Senior Vice President und General Manager, Sales und Marketing Group von Intel den neuen Chipssatz i965 (Broadwater) für Intel Core Cuo vorgestellt. Der Chipsatz wird in verschiedenen Ausführungen erhältlich sein. Zum Beispiel: P965 Express, G965 Express (mit integrierter Grafik) und Q965 Express (speziell für Business-Anforderungen als Teil von vPro). Mit Q963 oder P946 (Broadwater mit ICH7) werden auch günstige Chipsätze im Angebot sein.

Abit hat mit den beiden Modellen AW9D und AW9D-MAX zwei neue Core 2 Duo Mainboards vorgestellt. Beide basieren auf dem Intel 975X Express Chipsatz mit ICH7R Southbridge und unterstützen damit alle Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme, Pentium Extreme Edition und Pentium D Prozessoren. Abit schreibt beide Mainboards auch als Quad-Core fähig aus und damit unterstützen sie auch die kommenden Kentsfield Prozessoren. Das AW9D-MAX unterscheidet sich vom AW9D durch vier zusätzliche Serial-ATA Ports, einen zusätzlichen Gigabit Ethernet Controller und das Silent OTEST 2 Dual Heat-Pipe Kühlsystem. Bisher sind noch keine Informationen über die Preise bekannt, das AW9D-MAX dürfte bei deutlich über 200,00 Euro liegen, das AW9D dürfte sich um die 150,00 Euro bewegen.
